GeoSolve, Inc.® has been retained by numerous government agencies over the past 25 years to close projects as a Certified Engineering Geologist.
GeoSolve, Inc.® latest project is The Former Platinum Cleaners site, which consists of a 1.5-acre parcel located at 2290 West El Camino Real in Mountain View, California. The Site was previously occupied by the former Olive Tree Shopping Center, which consisted of one L-shaped building with parking areas, driveways, and landscaping. The former Platinum Cleaners facility was located on the western portion of the Olive Tree Shopping Center.
The center is divided into nine units, one of which was a dry cleaning business from 1985 until 2012. Tetrachloroethene (PCE) was used at the Site for dry cleaning. Initial investigations found that soil and soil vapor beneath the Site are contaminated with PCE. A Removal Action Workplan for the Site was approved in March 2016 and proposed remedy was soil vapor extraction (SVE). The SVE system was installed and was operated at the Site from April 2016 to January 2017. DTSC approved a soil management plan for the soil excavation around the sewer line and underneath the dry cleaner building in May 2017. Excavation of the contaminated soil identified in the SMP was conducted from October 31, 2017 to November 2, 2017. A total of 4,551.38 tons of soil were excavated and removed from the Site. DTSC determined that all appropriate response actions have been completed, that all acceptable engineering practices were implemented and that no further removal action is necessary on February 23, 2018.
